What is the Key to being blessed
The Bible says in Psalms 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he [b]meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

So what does it take for us to be blessed?
To be able to enjoy the blessings of God in our lives, David in this Psalms brings out very important lessons. From these verses, we can learn that it is God’s intention for us to be blessed in all aspects of our life. But before we get to the point where we become fruitful and prosperous in all we do we must understand this, there are things a blessed man does not do:
- First there is a way he will not walk,
- Secondly, there is a path he will not stand in, and
- Thirdly there is a seat he will not sit in

Things a Blessed Man Does Not Do
Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
To be a blessed Christian you must keep away from ungodly counsel. Ungodly counsel goes against God’s word or will. It can come from within or from other people. It is the ungodly counsel that will tell you to seek ungodly opportunities to prosper, to get a partner, or to do anything in life. Remember how Saul sought an ungodly counsel to seek a medium and God rejected him?
Another thing that a blessed man should do is stand in the path of sinners. Sinners have a path where they stand, and the righteous man should not be found on that path. This Path can speak of a direction, a way, or a road. As a righteous man, you should not be traveling in the same direction as sinners.
For a blessed man means there is a seat you should not take in life; the seat of the scornful. To scorn means, open dislike and disrespect or mockery. As a Christian one should avoid being scornful.

What a blessed man does
Psalms 1: 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
A blessed man not only delights in the law of God he also meditates on the word of God. This means that he does not just hear it and forget it; he thinks about it and has joy in what it says
What it means to be blessed
Psalms 1: 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
One of the characteristics of a blessed man is that he is like a tree planted by the river. When a tree is planted by the river it is never in lack of water. This makes the tree bring the fruits in season and never wither. When a man or woman is abiding by God’s words, he will produce fruits, John 15: 5 says “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing. On our own, we cannot bear fruits.
Whatever a righteous man he does shall prosper. This does not mean that the righteous man has a miraculous Touch on all he does! It means that in the life of the righteous man, God brings forth something good and wonderful out of everything. Even rough times bring forth something that shall prosper him.
